We had some Tall Ships arrive in London over the Bank Holiday Weekend, so I had to take a visit and see them. Here are my images. At the end of the day was a firework display, we managed to get a good position for some shots.
On the way home from Somerset, we stopped off at Stourhead. I have always wanted to visit this National Trust place, but never stopped because once I start to head home, I don’t want to stop. This time though we stopped and so glad we did. There is a lot more here than I first thought. We didn’t get into the house, as we ran out of time, but the gardens… Wow!
Went to Guildford today so that one of my sons could take a look at the Academy of Contemporary Music as he is considering going there for a degree or a diploma. While he was there, I decided to walk around the city (it has a cathedral, so it is a city), and take some pictures. I started by walking along the canal, then into the old city high street, and then off to the castle ruins. Love the pictures around the castle, the light was less harsh by then.
Out for the day, thanks to SouthWest Railways as they were offering cheap tickets, so some of the family went off to Bournemouth for the day. The weather threatened to rain on us a few times, but remained dry. Most of the time it was sunny, but as you’ll see, there were definitely some clouds around. We walked from the station, to the town centre, and then took in the beach and gardens. Below are some of the pictures taken. Hope you enjoy. We did…
Today we decided to go to Cliveden Gardens National Trust. The weather was reasonable, not sunny, but not raining either. I was a little disappointed that there wasn’t much in the way of bloomage, and so I was pleased that we were members of the National Trust as I’d have been a little upset to pay £9 and not see the colours of the flowers I expected.
