Family Holiday – Canal Trip – Warwickshire Ring – Part 1

Yes, we have taken a holiday. Don’t faint. But yeah, well, we just hired a boat and attempted to do the Warwickshire Ring. We made it. We weren’t sure we would. There were some long days, and one day was chucking it down with rain, that was very miserable. But we did it. About 104 miles and 116 locks. Not the automatic river locks, these were the canal manual ones. Mostly I was driving, and the others did the locks. Everyone did have a go at both driving and locks. We went along the following canals: Grand Union, Birmingham & Fazeley, Coventry, and Oxford canals.

Here are some of the images we took. Hope you like them. Enjoy.

Harefield/Grand Union Canal

Today in the heat we went out to Harefield, as we saw a pub called The Coy Carp, and the canal by the side, with an area for canoeists. So we thought we’d take a look with the ol’ camera. Well below is what we saw. The hot day seemed to bring out all the boaters on the Narrow Boats on the canal, and plenty of people walking around.
